The Hickory Velo Club is now using the Cyql app for managing club membership, rides, and our route library!

The Cyql.App is available for both Apple and Android.

Once app is installed:
Users will next need to create their own Cyql account. Then, go to the … (more) setting. Three dots bottom right. Anywhere you see the three … you can click on them as action menus.
Create your profiles settings. Note: The emergency contact you set here will be visible only to the other members who are attending the same ride as you and is now required when joining the HVC
Set your settings for Notifications, Language, Units of Measurements, and if desired, Connected Accounts. It’s important to enable the various notifications if you want to be alerted when new rides, news or activities are posted!
Available connected accounts options are Strava and Ride With GPS (RWGPS). Users can create their own public/non-club rides and use these Connect Accounts to import the routes you have saved in your Strava and/or RWGPS apps. Strava is also required if you want your ride participations to count towards Strava Verified club challenges. Users can also share a link to their rides to invite others. Note: Only designated Ride Leaders will have access to create HVC-sanctioned rides.
Add the clubs you want to follow. Users can browse/search for the HVC if they didn’t receive a club invite email. You can also contact the HVC for an access code.
Be Aware: The Cyql mobile app only opens if you have cell/internet service. it is not accessible off line!
For members who prefer a web version instead of a mobile app, you can use this URL on your computer: https://web.cyql.app
HVC Club Rides: When viewing the scheduled rides on the app, look for the Clubride designation. Because app-users can create non-club rides, there may be times when a listed ride is NOT an official HVC-sanctioned ride. This is important distinction as only club rides will have the protection of the club’s release and waiver of liability and participant accident insurance policy. Notice the Clubride designation in the upper left in the photo below. The non-HVC rides often will show a Public designation.
Please show our ride leaders and those who post these rides some love by indicating that you’re attending, interested, or not attending. It’s tough on them when they don’t know who or how many riders to plan for. I’m in! means attending, I am interested will keep you informed of any changes/updates to the ride, and I am not participating will end any further notifications in your app for that particular ride.
