2019 has been a good year for us, starting with our advocacy for improving infrastructure in Hickory and the surrounding area, a fairly active season of rides with many new ones included, and finally seeing the launch of our new web site, linked to our social media platforms of Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Our involvement in the community has helped to strengthen our credibility, demonstrate our commitment and given us some leverage and influence in determining the direction of future planning in Hickory, relative to cycling. We have two major sponsors so far, John Link, with McDonalds and Brad Lail with Hickory Furniture Mart and his hotels group. We are very thankful for their support and now it’s up to us to demonstrate why we deserve their support.
We’ll not be having a December meeting, but it was suggested we have a Christmas gathering so we can all meet one another without our kits on! I’d like to propose all of us getting together at The Hub in downtown Hickory. It’s been an awesome location for our most recent meetings and would serve as a very informal and welcoming place for us to get together. More news, such as date and time to come.
