The HVC Board of Directors is recommending bylaws changes for the organization that will clear the way to a more streamlined process for joining the club and/or renewing one’s club membership.
The proposed changes to our bylaws modifies the club’s family membership cost structure in a manner that provides a discounted annual fee for each immediate family member (up to five) related to a paid-in-full individual membership. The current language in this section of our bylaws has created a $40 family membership which includes the primary member and up to five family members for that fee.
Additionally, as we are making membership category modifications, the board is also recommending the elimination of what is referred to as a Youth Membership (for a minor who does not have a parent or guardian as a member of the club). This is a membership level which has not been used in many, many years, if ever.
These bylaws modifications are being posted here for member review and will be voted upon at our May General Membership Meeting, which is slated for Wednesday, May 13 at 7:15 p.m. Under the Sails at Union Square in Hickory. A vote on these changes will be subject to our bylaws requirement for a quorum (8 members) being present at the meeting.
Current Bylaws Language
